What do I have to do prior to my TCA Chemical Peel appointment?
Preparing your skin prior to the peel will help the peel be more successful, allowing deeper penetration and faster recovery. During your in-person consultation, you may be asked to stop using certain skin care products such as harsh cleansers and exfoliants. You may also be encouraged to use some AHA’s prior to the peel to pretreat the skin.
What is the recovery time or side effects?
Your skin may become red and take on a frosting appearance during/after the application of the TCA, a slight numbing effect, and darker skin appearance can happen for several days. Around day 3, your outermost layer of skin will begin to peel away potentially lasting up to 14 days.
